On the Anamur–Ermenek highway, after passing the Akpınar plateau, one reaches the archaeological site known locally as "Çandır," which lies on the ancient road that ran via Iconium and Germanicopolis to Anemurium. The ancient city consists of an upper town (acropolis) and the necropolis areas located on the slopes. In the northwest part of the ancient city are numerous rock-cut tombs.
