The Şekerci Fountain is a blessed structure that has kept giving life-giving water for centuries in the old city center regarded as the beating heart of Çeşme. Dating from the late Ottoman period, this fountain represents a perfect example of the art of stonemasonry and of water architecture. Taking its name from the confectioners' shops around it, this historic structure became, over the years, a center of the town's social life.
