Story
Located in Ankara's Altindag district, the Arslanhane Mosque Fountain is a fine example of the elegance and craftsmanship of 16th-century Ottoman architecture. Decorated with fine stonework and geometric motifs, the fountain not only gave water to the city's residents for centuries but also became a symbol of a religious function. Situated in the mosque courtyard, this structure is one of the preserved examples of traditional Ottoman fountain architecture. The use of its water source for ritual cleansing (ablution) demonstrates the relationship between water and the sacred in Islamic architecture.
