Ankara Palas on İstasyon Bulvarı was built between 1923 and 1930 as a hotel; today the historic building houses Nazilli's municipal ethnography museum. A survivor of the early Republican years, it layers its two lives, hotel and museum, within the same walls, and the building itself reads as a document of the town's recent past, quite apart from what is on display.
