Editor's Note
The Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, also known as the Third Bosphorus Bridge, spans the Bosphorus near the entrance to the Black Sea, north of Istanbul's two older suspension bridges, connecting Garipçe in Sarıyer on the European side with Poyrazköy in Beykoz on the Asian side. At 322 metres it is among the world's tallest bridges, with a main span ranking 13th longest among suspension bridges, and at 58.4 metres across it is one of the widest. Its foundation stone was laid on 29 May 2013 and it opened to traffic on 26 August 2016.
