Editor's Note
The Haliç Bridge, or Golden Horn Bridge, is a road bridge across the Golden Horn in Istanbul, connecting Ayvansaray and Halıcıoğlu and carrying the O-1 motorway. Built between 1971 and 1974 by IHI Corporation of Japan and Julius Berger-Bauboag AG of Germany, it entered service on 10 September 1974. The bridge is 995 metres long, 32 metres wide and stands 22 metres above sea level.
