This is a cistern remnant uncovered during the foundation excavation of a construction project, supervised by the Istanbul Archaeology Museums, on the plot at the intersection of Defter Emini Street and Selim Paşa Street. The oval-shaped cistern, carved entirely out of the bedrock, was found full of water and seen to be covered with a barrel vault. With an apartment block now standing over it, no trace of the cistern survives today. 1
