Editor's Note
The Karaite (Karay) Synagogue is a Karaite Jewish kenesa, or synagogue, on Dere Street in the Hasköy neighborhood of Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, completed in 1842. Because Karaite Jews are not represented by the Turkish Jewish Community, the synagogue is not affiliated with the Chief Rabbinate. It is open only during the Karaite Passover services or by prior arrangement.
