Editor's Note
It stood in Gölköy, attached to the center of Kastamonu, to the west of the Aşağı Mahalle Mosque. The original inscription of the fountain, which collapsed and disappeared over time, is now set on another, newly built fountain. It reads: "1- Year 1289 2- Its founder is the Chief Secretary 3- Mustafa Efendi and Hatun 4- It is the work of the late Lady Dilgüzar. (The inscription was read by Durmuş Gür.)" The founders of the fountain, built in AH 1289 / AD 1872-73, were the Chief Secretary Mustafa Efendi and the late Lady Dilgüzâr.
