The small 11th-century tetraconch Church of St. Shushanik stands atop a rocky hill overlooking the village of Kilittaşı (Turkey). Because it lies within a military zone, this rarely visited site can only be reached with a transit permit. The western part of the dome has collapsed, a wide crack has formed on the east facade running from the base to the top of the dome, the roof stones have been lost, and the multicoloured cladding slabs of red ochre-painted tuff are covered with bullet marks.
