Editor's Note
Located in central Tokat, in the Suiçmez neighborhood at the entrance to the Old Coppersmiths' Bazaar and within the garden of the Sultan Bath, the Hacı Turhan Mosque is an Ottoman-period structure built in 1473 or 1478 by Haydar bin Mehmed el-Hacı Turhan. Built entirely of stone with a square plan, the mosque is covered by a single dome resting on low arches and pendentives; while there are windows on its west and south facades, the north and east facades are windowless (blind).
