Editor's Note

These buildings, which were initially slated for demolition in the area of the Uzunyuva Monumental Tomb, had their demolition order subsequently cancelled, and an integrated plan was drawn up together with the vernacular architecture surrounding the site. Within this scope, the Emin Ağa Mansion was restored and brought into the museum complex in order to convey the vernacular architecture and cultural elements of Milas. The adjacent building was arranged to provide information about the Hekatomnos Sarcophagus, which lies underground and is closed to visitors, and about the Caria Region.
